What is make the switch?

Be Bold! Be Brave! And don't let your earrings weigh you down! Make the switch to Nickel & Suede and discover why so many of our customers call these lightweight, statement earrings life-changing.

Send your pre-loved statement earrings (yes, even your vintage N&S), and we will give you $5 in product credit for every pair of earrings. You can receive up to $35 product credit towards new N&S.

But there's more! Every gently-used, professional pair of earrings received will be donated to Dress for Success Kansas City. This incredible organization empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and development tools.

What happened to Spring Cleaning?

Spring Cleaning was originally scheduled for April 2020, however, a global pandemic had other plans for us. Our community of Nickel & Suede BFF’s really stepped up to support each other this year. We want to show our gratitude by expanding the campaign to include ALL statement earrings so more people can participate. Make the Switch is not only our way of saying thank you to our existing community, but also a reason for new customers to discover why Nickel & Suede is different. Life can be heavy, but your earrings don’t have to be!

When are the campaign dates?

August 1, 2020 through August 14, 2020.

**Please note any packages POSTMARKED AFTER August 14, 2020 will not be eligible for product credit.**

How does it work?

  1. Visit www.nickelandsuede.com/make-the-switch or click on Make The Switch from our home page.
  2. Click on the Make the Switch form button to fill out all required info. The form button will be available on 8/1/2020.
  3. Once you have filled out the form, check your email for confirmation. If you have not received your email within 24 hours, please check your junk mail folder before reaching out to customer service.
  4. Print out the email confirmation and include in your package/envelope to the HQ. Failure to include your email confirmation will delay processing.
  5. Ship your earrings to our HQ by following the instructions on the form or email confirmation (they are the same instructions).
  6. Please wait 3-8 business days from the day you mailed your package to receive email confirmation from the HQ confirming package receipt. We will do our best to process your package and product credit as soon as possible; however, due to COVID-19 there may be some delays. Please do not reach out to customer service prior to 3 business days as we will NOT have a response regarding your package or credit.
  7. Once your product credits have been added to your account, you will receive an email confirmation.
  8. Log into your account on nickelandsuede.com and SHOP AWAY! These credits do not expire.
  9. Fun fact If you live near our Dallas or Kansas City retail locations, you can bring your earrings and printed email confirmation to get product credit to spend in-store right away.

Frequently Asked Questions

What earrings can I send?

We will accept any of heavy statement or heavy stud earrings, non-N&S leather earrings, and of course, your pre-loved N&S earrings.

Are you accepting single earrings for credit?

Yes, we will accept single earrings for $2.50 product credit per earring up to $35 total product credit per customer.

Can I send in other types of jewelry, i.e. cuffs?

This promotion is for earrings only. We will not accept cuffs, bracelets, or rings.

What is the max credit I can receive and does it expire?

We will issue $5 product credit per pair and $2.50 product credit per single earring up to a maximum of $35 in product credit total per customer. Product credit does not expire.

How long will it take to receive the product credit? How will you notify me?

Please allow 3-8 business days from the day you mailed the package to receive email confirmation that your package has been processed.

You must have an account on nickelandsuede.com to receive credit. Failure to have a customer account will result in a delay to receive product credit.

Once we have received your package and processed the credit, you will receive an email from Nickel & Suede confirming product credit has been applied to your account.

Please do not reach out to Customer Service before the 3-day delivery window as we will not have an update for you. We are working as fast as we can while taking all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our staff.

Can I go to the Dallas or Kansas City Stores instead of shipping my earrings?

Yes! Simply fill out the form online, print out your email confirmation, and bring it with you to the stores. Our Stylists will accept your earring donations. You can use your product credit right away, in store. Any unused credit will be added to a gift card for later use.

How do I access my online store credit?

You must have a nickelandsuede.com account to receive product credit. Once the product credit has been applied, and you have been notified via email, simply log onto your account on nickelandsuede.com to access your credit. It will automatically apply to your cart once you have placed items in the cart. The credit can be used for product and/or shipping, but you are responsible for any taxes.

Can I send more than one package for product credit?

You are welcome to send more than one package to Nickel & Suede HQ, however, we cannot guarantee both packages will be processed at the same time. Please note we can only issue $35 maximum product credit per customer so if additional packages arrive and you have already been issued the maximum credit, we cannot issue additional product credit. We are happy to process the additional packages for donation to Dress For Success Kansas City.

IF I send in more items than I stated on my form, will I receive additional product credit?

Unfortunately, the form must match the number of earrings to receive product credit.

WHAT IF I DO NOT RECEIVE MY EMAIL CONFIRMATION?

If you have not received an email confirmation within 24 hours of form submission, please check your junk/spam folder in your email inbox before reaching out to customer service. The email subject line will be "Make The Switch Form Submission Received."  

CAN I PARTICIPATE WITHOUT A PRINTED EMAIL CONFIRMATION?

Unfortunately, you must include the printed email confirmation in your envelope/package or bring it with you to one of our retail locations to receive product credit. 

Where are the donations going?

We are excited to partner with Dress For Success Kansas City this year for Make The Switch. For every gently used, nearly new professional pair of earrings that we receive, we will donate them to Dress for Success Kansas City. Dress for Success is a charitable organization focused on empowering women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire, and development tools. What precautions are you taking for COVID-19

We are taking all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our staff when handling Make the Switch packages. For this reason, all packages will sit for a minimum of 24 hours before handling. We appreciate your understanding in any delayed product credit processing as we prioritize the safety of our staff.
