WHAT STEPS ARE YOUR RETAIL LOCATIONS TAKING DURING COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS?
The health and safety of our team and our customers will always be our first priority. We offer contactless payment and our associates regularly sanitize their hands and clean high-touch surfaces. We have hand sanitizer for customer use throughout the store and clean any handled product. Associates have their temperatures taken before their shifts, associates and customers wear masks, and we offer masks to customers who may have forgotten to bring one. We also adhere to limited capacity guidelines and practice social distancing. We want everyone who comes through our doors to feel empowered but most importantly safe.
I lost one of my earrings! Can I order just one?Leather is a natural material, so each pair of our leather earrings is unique in texture and color, making it often difficult to match new leather to older leather. However, we want to help and often can! We do have replacement earrings available for many of our current products. To request a replacement earring, please call Customer Service at 816-467-4600 to determine if your earrings are eligible for replacement.
Do your earrings have nickel in them?Actually no, Nickel comes from the founders' last name. All of our hooks are Sterling silver-filled or 14k gold-filled. Surgical Steel earring hooks are available, and in many cases we can replace the hooks if you have extra sensitive ears - though options are limited based on leather type and thickness. Just make a note at checkout, requesting surgical steel hooks, and we'll be sure to swap them for you (when we can) or reach out to you if your preferred hook and leather style's compatibility is in question.
What size earrings should I order?Most of our customers prefer size medium, and we tell everyone who asks to start there. The earrings are so lightweight that you'll find any size is extremely comfortable, but the medium and large sizes get noticed more often. That being said, size small is also very popular. Women with short hair often prefer the large and medium sizes, while women with long hair sometimes prefer the small. It is really a matter of personal preference. Are all the earrings the same thickness/made from the same leather?No, we have three different thicknesses or kinds of leather that we use:

CAN I REQUEST DIFFERENT HOOKS?
Can I order a size mini?
We do offer size mini as a custom order! Our size mini teardrop and Nova style leather earrings will be the same price as the other sizes, and they will not be eligible for exchanges/returns. Please leave a comment to seller at checkout requesting a size mini in the earrings you purchased and we will be happy to cut most solid teardrop and Nova shaped leather earrings into a size mini.*
*We CANNOT make size mini in Camo Suede, Leopard, Knit leathers, Nouveau print, Sedona print, Cut-Outs, Beau styles, Gem styles, Disc styles, Sunbursts or Lunas.
What size cuff should I order?To choose your cuff size, measure the circumference of your wrist with a fabric measuring tape. Our sizing builds-in 1/2 inch of space, so pick the size that fits the stated size ranges from our size chart.
What do the backs of the earrings look like?NEW: The last photo in each leather earring listing is a 360 view of that pair. You can rotate the photo using your finger or mouse to see the backs of the earrings! The backs will differ slightly between styles; it is just the nature of working with leather. Often the backs are a shade lighter than the main color on the front, but can sometimes have a dark back or a white back.
Will you be restocking previous leather colors and prints?Yes! And no. We love to keep things fresh and we are always bringing in new colors and textures. There are times when we sell out of a leather and we are not able to restock it. Sometimes we'll pull a color from the site for a season with a plan to reintroduce it later on. Many of our leather hides are limited so if you see a color that you love, purchase it before it sells out and if you are looking for an older style, keep checking back.
Do you make vegan leather products?
We do not make vegan leather products at this time, but if there is enough interest we may look into it in the future.
Do you take custom orders?
There is a lot going on here at Nickel & Suede, which makes it difficult to accommodate custom orders. We are, however, very interested in knowing what you have in mind, so send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. We'll see what we can do!

Leave us a note in the "Order Comments" box (after you select your shipping method on the checkout page) that the order is a gift. We will make sure the recipient receives a gift receipt with no price shown on the invoice.
