Nickel & Suede started with leather. Over the last ten years, Soren and I have traveled to Italy to source and design leathers with some of the best tanneries and factories in Italy. We use these luxury leathers for our lightweight earrings and as we've grown... now handbags!
For holiday season, I knew I wanted to create a handbag that would turn heads. We designed the Arco Handbag using our sparkly-textured, black Afterglow leather. We've been crafting earrings every holiday season in this leather, but we fell in love with it in on our handbag.
For the handbag lining, I chose the same color the iconic, pale-yellow dress Kate Hudson wears at the end of the film, "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days." It's exactly how I want our customer to feel when they carry the Arco Handbag. Sophisticated, on-trend and jaw-dropping.
The arched handle adds an artful touch, and is comfortable to carry. I loved having something compact on my last trip to Italy. As a mom of 5 boys, I also wanted this bag to be functional for every day use. We designed it to have an adjustable, crossbody strap too.
